For IBM ( in general, I am saying specific team which is exception)

Brand value, Career growth and onsite opportunities? earlier has had but now its degrading. but for IBM labs brand value is more

How is work environment and how efficient is the communication b/w teams or department? Due to huge crowd , Politics in Team is obvious, ( you have to make yourself close to supervisor to get better increment and promotion. no work and huge crowd so no visibility among team. if anybody wants peaceful life , IBM is best place but don’t except increment

Work pressure/Work – life balance. Very good. You don’t have to sit for late night unless you want to show your supervisor that you are very hard working.

Satisfaction with salary and quality of work. Not at all. You spoil your expertise.

What type of work they do: Product development, Services etc. Or if mix of these then what at percent? IGSI is doing services, IBM Labs doing prod development.

Job security. Yes better

Do you recommend your company to others? Yes or No and Why? I am not recommending. if has better jobs. it depends on what type of other jobs he has.

Vital Statistics:
Fresher salary: 2.75 for freshers from good colleges. 3 lakhs + 40K +
Normal %age salary hikes: single digit.
Bonus is very bad.

    My experience with IBM has been horrible.90% of the managers will carry the attitude that they own IBM. No employee concerns are taken care. If you have any issues with any policy you dont access to any HR instantly, will have to wait for your query to be addressed for 2-3 days through a call center…About the Hiring process. First round will take place, HR will get the feedback and then the second round will be taken by an absolutely different person who will not be aware of what has happened in the first round. there is no transparency at all in the hiring process. You will be lucky if u have all the rounds in one day thru some walk-in or something…But otherwise you cant even be sure what has happened. The HR may say a positive if its a negative and vice versa…as there is no transparency and the actual interviewers have no idea what happned in prev rounds.
    The first round may be taken by a person from Pune and second round from Bangalore. Openings are not really concrete requirements. Its blind recruitment. Once u r onboarded u may find urself struggling for a project. The project entry interviews could be more tough than the job interviews itself. and finally the worst of everyhing…the notice period which is 3months and now mandatory to prevent attrition. Even an on bench person is not allowed to leave before 3 months.. which means no gain for IBM but yes the career of the person resigning could be at stake. So the purpose is clearly harassment and nothing more…My advice to whoever considering joining IBM think beyond the brand name of IBM…Its a real torture being in IBM…No reasonable hikes… no reasonable appraisals…no consideration for your personal life…If u think u r really happy with package they offer which is not going to change much over 2-3 yrs(with3-10% hikes they give) only consider joining…and very important changing job after joining IBM is going to be a serious problem.
