The placement statistics for last year would be much better as placement situation has improved in colleges everywhere owing to increased demand from IT sector.
One more fact, which deserves mention, is some master’s courses are dual degree (admission through JEE), and for some M.Sc courses there are separate entrance exams (JAM). It would be unfair to compare the placement of M.Sc guys with B.Tech, as candidates will have different backgrounds. JEE rank definitely gives edge as far as some (read good paymasters) companies are concerned.

    I always thought everyone gets placed…Except for 2002 and 2003 batch ofcourse

    MTech placements sucks in kgp…. worst in the country ……. while UG placements is the best in the country……. even for computer science……….
